I've been practicing hard for this concert with the University of Minnesota'a University Band. My friend Brian Messier will be conducting the ensemble and has bravely programmed an accordion concerto originally written by Walter Buczynski for Canadian classical accordionist Joseph Macerollo. The first movements of the work are abstractions of folk themes while the final movement is a rhythmic exploration of extended technique. I will also be joining the ensemble for several other pieces on this program!
